Schwan-STABILO, today a globally active company, has its origins in a pencil factory in Nuremberg. Production began there in 1855 with the mechanical manufacture of pencils. When Adam Schwanhäußer took over the company, the abbreviation of his name became the company symbol still used today - the swan. After World War II, the third generation rebuilt the pencil factory. In the 1970s, the fifth generation of Schwanhäussers embarked on an innovative course. The STABILO BOSS, the first highlighter on the market, marked the beginning of the successful production of felt and fiber-tip pens Made in Germany
